KLINGER Gaja: We got the answers to your questions

Frequently asked questions about the new, eco-friendly sealing material KLINGER Gaja.

Two weeks ago, we proudly introduced our latest innovation: the sealing material KLINGER Gaja. Since then, we have received numerous inquiries and positive feedback. In order to provide you with the most important information, we have compiled and answered the most frequently asked questions.

KLINGER Gaja contains the highest possible number of renewable raw materials.

Why was the name KLINGER Gaja chosen?
The ancient Greeks worshipped „Gaia“ as the oldest goddess of Olympus, who is considered the creator of the universe and, as Mother Earth, stands for the origins of our planet. The name says it all: A connection to nature, down-to-earth, sustainable. For this reason, the product developers of the new KLINGER Gaja chose this connection to classical mythology for the first gasket, whose raw materials were selected for the first time with regard to their sustainable properties.

Who benefits from KLINGER Gaja?
KLINGER Gaja is particularly beneficial for companies that are forward thinking and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) oriented. For organizations that prioritize sustainability and prefer environmentally friendly solutions, the KLINGER Gaja offers an excellent alternative to conventional gaskets. It contributes to ESG initiatives by meeting high environmental standards. This makes it the ideal choice for companies pursuing sustainable and responsible business practices.

What impact does KLINGER Gaja have on the ecological footprint?
KLINGER Gaja makes a significant contribution to reducing the ecological footprint. By using untreated fillers with a low PCF (Product Carbon Footprint) and renewable raw materials such as natural rubber, biocircular silica and cellulose fibers, CO2 emissions are reduced by ca. 25% (except scope 3 downstream). These sustainable materials and the efficient production help to minimize the ecological footprint of our products.

"We are therefore pioneers in the field of sustainability and can already supply our customers with products that reduce their ecological footprint."

Did you know that ...

... KLINGERSIL gaskets are colored so that they can be distinguished even without a legible type designation? The different color codes of the gaskets stand for their product designations, which are determined by the coloring of the front/back side and cross-section. Therefore, gaskets are always depicted from both the front and back in product catalogs. The usual coloring of the gasket has been omitted for reasons of environmental friendliness. Additionally, the use of bio-ethanol as a solvent in the manufacturing process at KLINGER Dichtungstechnik further improves the eco-balance of KLINGER Gaja.

... 15 percent of the sealing materials used at KLINGER Dichtungstechnik are recycled? For this purpose, the remnants of punched-out gasket sheets are collected, ground and blended into new gasket materials.

... biocircular silica is produced from rice husks? This waste from food production is available in enormous quantities and thus enables an upcycling process.
